Sucrose-associated SnRK1a1-mediated phosphorylation of Opaque2 modulates endosperm filling in maize
Main text (Molecular Plant 17, 788–806; May 6 2024) Following publication of our article, we found an error in Supplemental Figure 28B and the corresponding raw data in Supplemental Data 3. The test weight for O2-SD2 was inadvertently and mistakenly duplicated into O2-SD1 in Supplemental Figure 28B and Supplemental Data 3. The data in Supplemental Figure 28B and Supplemental Data 3 have been corrected and are shown here. The corrections do not alter the final conclusion of our published study.
HMGCS2-mediated ketogenesis maintains intestinal barrier in inflammatory bowel disease by inhibiting ferroptosis
Abstract Complete mucosal healing is a key therapeutic goal in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). While ferroptosis-mediated epithelial cell death is known to compromise the mucosal barrier as the cornerstone of mucosal healing, the precise mechanisms driving this process during IBD pathogenesis remain to be fully elucidated.

Linking teacher caring to perceived course-related learning gains: the sequential mediating roles of academic self-efficacy and learning engagement
Abstract Teacher caring is a crucial relational resource for student development in higher education, yet the process by which it connects to students’ perceived course-related learning gains remains underexplored. Drawing on caring theory, social cognitive theory, learning engagement theory, and a supportive relationship perspective, this study tested a sequential mediation model.
From AI dependence to reflective collaboration: psychological ownership, competency anxiety, and perceived support in AI-assisted learning
Abstract Generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) can improve efficiency in academic work. However, it also raises a central psychological question: when AI helps produce a task, why do some learners still experience the final work as their own, whereas others experience it as polished but psychologically distant? This study examines psychological ownership and competency anxiety in AI-assisted learning, distinguishing between dependent AI outsourcing and reflective human–AI collaboration.

SnRK2.6 phosphorylates sucrose transporter ZmSUT1 to enhance yield by modulating leaf senescence in maize
Abstract The extended stay-green trait is beneficial to increase photosynthetic efficiency, thereby enhancing crop yield. However, factors and mechanisms affecting this process remain largely unknown. Here, we cloned a leaf precocious senescence gene (lps1-1) and created additional null alleles. All lps1 mutants exhibited accelerated leaf senescence with reduced chlorophyll contents and photosynthetic efficiency.
Primary amoebic meningoencephalitis caused by Naegleria fowleri in a 6-year-old girl: case report
Abstract Background: Primary amoebic meningoencephalitis (PAM) is caused by Naegleria fowleri, a rare but highly fatal central nervous system infection with a mortality rate exceeding 95%. Early diagnosis is challenging due to the close similarity of its clinical manifestations and cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) findings to those of acute bacterial meningitis. Metagenomic next-generation sequencing (mNGS) has become a vital tool for identifying rare or unexpected pathogens.
A dual role of EZH2 in regulating A-to-I RNA editing and mRNA stability through ADAR
|
Abstract Adenosine-to-inosine (A-to-I) RNA editing, catalyzed by adenosine deaminases acting on RNA (ADARs), is a widespread modification in metazoans. Cumulative evidence has revealed the altered A-to-I editing profiles in cancers, but the underlying mechanism remains unclear. Here, we discover the well-known histone lysine methyltransferase enhancer of zeste homologue 2 (EZH2) as an unexplored ADAR interactor and editing regulator in prostate cancer (PCa).

Loss of Syncrip Unleashes Apobec-Driven Mutagenesis, Tumor Heterogeneity, and Ar-Targeted Therapy Resistance in Prostate Cancer
Abstract Tumor mutational burden and heterogeneity has been suggested to fuel resistance to many targeted therapies. The cytosine deaminase APOBEC proteins have been implicated in the mutational signatures of more than 70% of human cancers. However, the mechanism underlying how cancer cells hijack the APOBEC mediated mutagenesis machinery to promote tumor heterogeneity, and thereby foster therapy resistance remains unclear.

Why You Should Not Trust Social Media
Everybody is happier than you? There is an interesting tendency. People compare their lives not only to their neighbours, friends or family, but also to people who they don’t know. Right, people from social media. You know them, but they do not know you. They all seem so happy and so successful. Even if they are sharing bad things, it makes you feel like jealous — why are they so brave to share their lives?
