Towards Sustainable Energy-Saving Hydrogen Production: Recent Advances in Tungsten-Based Urea Oxidation Electrocatalysts
1 Introduction Urea, a ubiquitous nitrogen-containing chemical, is indispensable in modern industry and agriculture, particularly as a dominant nitrogen-release fertilizer [1-6]. However, its extensive application and industrial discharge have led to widespread environmental accumulation. Its subsequent degradation into ammonia and nitrate compounds poses severe risks to ecosystems and human health.
Hybrid exosomal nanomotors convert pathological ROS into transport-driving cues to enhance cartilage accumulation in osteoarthritis
Abstract Osteoarthritis (OA) remains difficult to treat because drug transport within cartilage is restricted by its dense extracellular matrix and rapid joint clearance. Here we show that hybrid exosomal nanomotors (CAP-Mn/140@hyExos) convert pathological reactive oxygen species (ROS) into transport-driving cues to overcome diffusion-limited transport within cartilage.

Introduction Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive disorder distinguished by degeneration of motor neurons in the brain and spinal cord. Motor neuron loss impairs mobility, dexterity, speech, and swallowing and ultimately causes fatal paralysis. ALS is a cruelly rapid disease. Most patients survive just 3 to 5 years after diagnosis.1 Effective therapies depend on defining the cellular and molecular drivers of motor neuron degeneration.

Federated learning-driven intelligent framework for multi-center radiotherapy dose distribution prediction oriented toward linear accelerators
Abstract High-quality radiotherapy dose distribution prediction for linear accelerators remains a labor-intensive process constrained by inter-planner variability and institutional data silos. While deep learning has shown promise in automating dose distribution prediction, most existing methods are trained on single-center datasets, limiting their generalizability. Direct multi-center data pooling is hindered by stringent privacy regulations and heterogeneous clinical protocols.
A necessary transition in emotional metaphor of social chatbot technology
Abstract Social chatbots offer companionship to users, particularly those who experience long-term loneliness, through natural language and emotional interaction. However, prolonged usage of these chatbots may result in changes in users’ emotional concepts. This article examines the impact and risks of social chatbots on human emotional concepts from a conceptual metaphor perspective.

Freshly Generated Super Sunrise Plasma Bubbles During the Geomagnetic Storm on November 5-6, 2023
1 Introduction Equatorial plasma bubble (EPB), a large-scale plasma depletion structure relative to the background ionosphere, is regarded as a common ionospheric irregular phenomenon during nighttime at equatorial and low-latitude regions (Hysell, 2000; Kelley, 2009). Typically, it is initially generated at the bottomside of F region and, during its growth process, is accompanied by the formation of multi-scale irregular structures.

Structural basis of sodium ion-dependent carnitine transport by OCTN2 - Nature Communications
Abstract Carnitine is essential for the import of long-chain fatty acids into mitochondria, where they are used for energy production. The carnitine transporter OCTN2 (novel organic cation transporter 2, SLC22A5) mediates carnitine uptake across the plasma membrane and as such facilitates fatty acid metabolism in most tissues. OCTN2 dysfunction causes systemic primary carnitine deficiency (SPCD), a potentially lethal disorder.

AI disclosure, moral shame, and the punishment of honesty
Disclosure of AI use is seen as a sign of the author’s honesty and commitment to the principle of transparency. However, existing discussions have paid little attention to a special case: authors who honestly disclose their use of AI feel ashamed because of their honesty. The main issue discussed in this paper is why authors experience shame in the process of responsible disclosure of AI use. We redefine this emotion and its causes from the perspective of moral emotions.

SURFS and AlphaFold Reveal Ribosome Footprint Shift Caused by EF-Tu D81 Mutation
Abstract Protein synthesis relies on accurate mRNA decoding by tRNA, a process guided by EF Tu. We investigated how mutations at a conserved residue, aspartate 81, affect EF Tu function using GTPase assays, AlphaFold modeling, and quantum sensing based super resolution force spectroscopy (SURFS). All D81 variants retained GTPase activity but impaired tRNA release, revealed by sub-nucleotide ribosome footprinting.
