Targeting NDUFS2-mediated mitochondrial hyperfunction disrupts energy homeostasis and Akt-mTOR signaling in NSCLC
Abstract This study investigates the role of NDUFS2 in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). The bioinformatics analysis of The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) elucidated upregulation of NDUFS2 expression in NSCLC tissues relative to normal counterparts, correlating with unfavorable clinicopathological parameters. The single-cell RNA sequencing data further show NDUFS2 enrichment within malignant cancer cell populations across diverse primary NSCLC tumors and their metastatic sites.
[2610.20447] Testing Conditional Distribution Equality Using Generative Models
Conditional distribution equality testing is a core problem with applications in causal inference, model diagnostics, and transfer learning. Existing methods often lose power when the conditioning variable is high-dimensional. We propose a new test that leverages generative models to compare conditional distributions using both observed data and synthetic samples.
Intestinal epithelial GSK3β governs fumarate-dependent neutrophil reprogramming to promote colorectal cancer
Abstract Tumor-infiltrating neutrophils (TINs) promote colorectal cancer progression and therapeutic resistance, but their reprogramming mechanisms remain unclear. Using mouse models and multiomics profiling, we reveal that intestinal epithelial glycogen synthase kinase-3-β (GSK3β) orchestrates fumarate-dependent TIN polarization. GSK3β-primed T3 neutrophils express FTH1 and PD-L1, conferring ferroptosis resistance and immune evasion.

Proton-gated multisite concerted proton-electron transfer-like pathway in a dual-atom framework for selective water purification
Abstract Precise oxidant activation is essential for advanced water treatment but is often limited by radical quenching and low oxidant efficiency. Peroxymonosulfate (PMS) is promising; however, directing O-O cleavage towards non-radical pathways requires tightly coupled proton‒electron transfer, which is rarely achieved in heterogeneous catalysts because of spatially mismatched active sites.

Destination awareness among long-haul non-visitors
ABSTRACT This study explores destination awareness of 14 Asian destinations and ‘Asia’ as a whole among American and British long-haul non-visitors. It conceptualizes destination awareness as a pre-decisional state grounded in limited cognitive associations and weak or absent affective impressions, with conative elements largely inapplicable, providing a theoretical foundation for future research on non-visitors.
Unbiased screen of human transcriptome reveals an unexpected role of 3’UTRs in translation initiation
Abstract Although most eukaryotic mRNAs require a 5ʹ-cap for translation initiation, some can also be translated through a poorly studied cap-independent pathway. Here we develop a circRNA-based system and unbiasedly identify more than 10,000 sequences in the human transcriptome that contain Cap-independent Translation Initiators (CiTIs). Surprisingly, most of the identified CiTIs are located in 3’UTRs, which mainly promote translation initiation in mRNAs bearing highly structured 5’UTR.
