A prefrontal cortex-piriform cortex circuit mediates diminished interest
Abstract Diminished interest constitutes a core behavioral deficit across multiple neuropsychiatric conditions, yet its neural mechanism remains poorly understood. Here, we identify projection-biased and transcriptionally distinct subsets of glutamatergic neurons in the ventromedial prefrontal cortex (vmPFC) that preferentially innervate the anterior piriform cortex (APC) and posterior piriform cortex (PPC).
Dual-doped all-graphene fiber for flexible, high-performance thermoelectric temperature sensing
Abstract High-performance temperature sensors are critical components for emerging Internet-of-Things and biomedical-electronics platforms. However, simultaneously achieving high sensitivity, mechanical compliance, and user-defined integrability remains a formidable materials-and-device challenge. Here, we report a continuous graphene fiber (GF) thermocouple technology where multiple p–n thermocouples are created in situ along a single, unbroken fiber while preserving its structural integrity.
Early menopause is associated with reduced global brain activity
|
Abstract Menopause affects the aging process in women through a significant decline in ovarian hormone production in midlife. Women who experience early menopause show accelerated physiological aging, poorer memory, and increased risk of neurodegenerative diseases. However, how menopause timing affects brain activity remains unclear, which could be crucial for understanding early menopause-related aging acceleration and increased risk of dementia.

Pharyngeal Microenvironment Associated with Human Rhinovirus Infection in Children: Insights from Metatranscriptomic Sequencing
Abstract Human rhinovirus (HRV) is one of the most common causes of acute low respiratory tract infections (ALRTIs) in children and adults resulting in significant alterations in host gene expression and respiratory tract microbiome composition. We sought to clarify HRV prevalence features in children in Wuhan, and investigate interactions between HRV and host in pharynx microenvironment.
A cholesterol-dependent LRRC8A-caveolin-1 axis sustains KRAS/EGFR signaling, ribosome biogenesis and growth in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma
Abstract Cellular adaptive volume regulation is essential for maintaining metabolic homeostasis and supporting survival, yet its role in desmoplastic pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) remains incompletely understood. Through comprehensive bioinformatic and functional studies, we identified LRRC8A, the core subunit of volume-regulated anion channels (VRAC), as a central regulator linking volume homeostasis to PDAC progression.

Antioxidant biomaterials in intervertebral disc regeneration: current status and future clinical translation
Abstract Intervertebral disc degeneration (IVDD) is a leading cause of chronic back pain and long-term disability, imposing a substantial burden on healthcare systems worldwide. At the core of this degenerative process lies oxidative stress, a pathological condition driven by excessive accumulation of reactive oxygen species (ROS). This redox imbalance initiates a destructive cascade within the intervertebral disc, resulting in injury, premature senescence, and death of nucleus pulposus cells.
LNP-based delivery of a Toll-like receptor 9 agonist elicits potent adjuvant effects and antitumor immunity
Abstract The success of therapeutic cancer vaccines hinges on overcoming the immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment (TME) and activating robust, durable cellular immunity. Here, we engineered a highly translatable vaccine adjuvant delivery system (LNPC) by integrating the Toll-like receptor 9 (TLR9) agonist CpG with the FDA-approved ionizable lipid ALC-0315.

An optimization method for railway alignment schemes based on game-theoretic combination weighting and an interval number model
Abstract Optimal selection of railway alignment schemes is a critical phase in railway line design. However, existing studies primarily adopt an engineering perspective, often overlooking economic and social factors. Current decision-making models also face limitations in quantifying qualitative indicators and balancing subjective and objective weights, thereby undermining the scientific rigor and effectiveness of the evaluation process.
Temporal assessment of behavior in Parkinson’s visual hallucinations via a multidimensional analysis strategy
Abstract Visual hallucination (VH) is a common nonmotor symptom of Parkinson’s disease (PD). However, the lack of reliable animal models and quantitative assessment tools poses significant challenges for mechanism and intervention research in this area. Here, we developed a novel PD-related visual hallucination (PDVH) model by administering benzhexol hydrochloride, which can induce hallucinatory phenotypes in PD model mice.
Developing Robust Management Pathways for Nutrient Pollution in Watersheds Under Climate Uncertainty
1 Introduction Excessive nutrient loads in rivers, lakes and coastal waters can cause severe environmental problems, such as eutrophication and damage the survival, growth, and reproduction of organisms (Chen et al., 2019; Motitsoe et al., 2020). Nutrients entering receiving waters originate from diverse point and non-point sources and are transformed through complex physical and biogeochemical processes that interact nonlinearly across space and time (Destouni et al., 2017).

ZDHHC9-mediated KLF5 palmitoylation enhances the cAMP/PKA/CREB axis to promote colorectal cancer progression
Abstract S-palmitoylation, a reversible lipid-based post-translational modification, is notably elevated in colorectal cancer (CRC) due to common lipid metabolism disorders. It has been reported to play crucial roles in regulating membrane composition, cell proliferation, and metastasis in various malignancies such as pancreatic and breast cancers. However, its role in the progression of CRC remains poorly understood.

Age-dependent prognostic significance of neutrophil-to-HDL ratio in hepatocellular carcinoma patients
Introduction Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) ranks as the sixth most prevalent cancer globally and is the third leading cause of cancer-related deaths (1–3). Despite advances in both surgical and systemic treatments, the prognosis of HCC remains poor due to its biological heterogeneity and high recurrence rates. Five-year survival rates vary widely, from approximately 70% for early-stage disease to less than 16% in advanced stages (4, 5).
Catalyst‐Controlled Cascade Annulation of CF3‐Imidoyl Sulfoxonium Ylides with Activated Nitriles for the Divergent Synthesis of Trifluoromethyl‐Substituted Pyrroles and Quinolines
A copper catalyst-controlled cascade annulation of CF3-imidoyl sulfoxonium ylides with activated nitriles has been disclosed, which enables the divergent synthesis of trifluoromethyl-substituted pyrroles and quinolines. For the synthesis of pyrroles, the [3 + 2] annulation proceeds to give the multisubstituted pyrrole products. For the synthesis of quinolines, the CuI-induced intramolecular cyclization is involved in the reaction with the cleavage of CCN bond.

Suppliers’ AI adoption and customers’ carbon emissions: firm-level evidence from China
ABSTRACT Using panel data of Chinese listed firms from 2010 to 2021, we investigate whether and how suppliers’ artificial intelligence (AI) adoption affects their customers’ carbon emissions. We find that increased AI adoption by supplier firms reduces their customers’ carbon emissions, and this result is robust to various tests. The main mechanisms are the innovation chain (measured by green innovation patents) and the capital chain (based on trade credit).

Inhibition of KLK8 promotes pulmonary endothelial repair by restoring VE-cadherin/Akt/FOXM1 pathway
Abstract The tissue kallikrein-related peptidases (KLKs) are secreted serine proteases deeply involved in angiogenesis. However, whether KLKs are involved in the regulation of endothelial regeneration during sepsis remains unknown. By comparing the mRNA levels of 15 KLKs, we found that KLK8 was the highest induced KLK member in lung tissues or primary isolated mouse lung vascular endothelial cells (MLVECs) exposed to lipopolysaccharide (LPS).
