Mizzou to meet old Big 12 foe in non-conference game in Kansas City Original

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - A pair of old Big 12 opponents will meet in a non-conference matchup between the SEC and Big Ten later this year. On Thursday, Mizzou announced that its men’s basketball program will play Nebraska at the T-Mobile Center in Kansas City, Missouri, on Saturday, Dec. 12. The matchup between the Tigers and Cornhuskers will be the first between the schools in 16 seasons. Still, it’ll be the 220th time Missouri and Nebraska have matched up in men’s basketball.

LAWRENCE, Kan. (KCTV) - The Algerian National Team will arrive to the Kansas City metro on Sunday, KCTV has confirmed through multiple sources. Les Fennecs, as the national team is known, will base camp at Rock Chalk Park in Lawrence, Kansas, hosted by the University of Kansas. The team will begin its 2026 FIFA World Cup play on Tuesday, June 16, at Kansas City Stadium against defending champion Argentina.

Struck gas line leads to evacuations, street closure in Wellsville

WELLSVILLE, Kan. (KCTV) - A street has been closed and residents have been evacuated after a gas line was struck in Franklin County on Thursday. The Wellsville, Kansas Police Department said Walnut Street was closed from 1st to 2nd Street on Thursday morning at 11:39 a.m. Residents were evacuated from the area after the gas line was hit. Officials asked residents to avoid the area. Kansas Gas has responded to the scene, police said. This is a developing story.
