Metabolome and microbiome analysis of human milk from women with lactational mastitis during remission
Abstract Lactational mastitis is a disease that brings pain to mothers and interrupts breastfeeding. After remission, mothers and doctors care about whether the milk is suitable to continue breastfeeding or not. However, relevant research, particularly multi-omics studies focusing on the remission phase of lactational mastitis, remains scarce. 16S rRNA sequencing was used to acquire the microbiome.
CircAbcc1-encoded ABCC1-677aa modulates DLX1 to suppress ferroptosis in chronic cerebral ischemia
Abstract Cerebral ischemia leads to progressive neurological dysfunction due to restricted blood perfusion in the brain. While circular RNAs are known to regulate pathological processes, their ability to encode functional proteins during ischemic injury remains unclear. Here, we show that the circular RNA circAbcc1 suppresses ferroptosis in mouse and cellular models of chronic cerebral ischemia‘. We found that circAbcc1 translates into a functional protein, ABCC1-677aa.

Automated multi-sequence MRI quantitative assessment and 3D visualization of acute cervical spinal cord injury
Abstract Precise evaluation of spinal cord compression and intramedullary lesions is essential for surgical decision-making in spinal cord injury (SCI). However, this process remains intrinsically subjective, frequently challenged by small lesion volumes, elongated morphology, and ambiguous boundaries, which collectively drive high inter-rater variability. We leveraged a heterogeneous multi-center MRI dataset (n = 711) to develop and validate an uncertainty-aware deep learning architecture.

Transferrin receptor 1 shedding by the pro-inflammatory iRhom–ADAM17 complex and ADAM10 regulates cellular iron uptake and ferroptosis
Abstract Iron homeostasis is a tightly regulated mechanism, wherein the uptake, transport, storage and export of iron are stringently controlled. Dysregulation and excessive iron uptake lead to iron-dependent programmed cell death called ferroptosis, a promising future cancer therapy target. Cellular iron uptake is limited by the surface presence of membrane-bound transferrin receptor 1 (TfR1). Soluble TfR1 is used as a major clinical marker to differentiate anemia types.

The Silent Expansion of Fire Activity in Continental Tropical Asia shaped by natural and anthropogenic forces
Abstract While research has largely focused on boreal fires, here we show a significant increase in spring fire activity across continental tropical Asia between 2001 and 2020, characterized by two prominent hotspots. We further show that this upward trend in fire activity is driven by distinct regional mechanisms. In the Indian Peninsula hotspot, anthropogenic agricultural burning across expanding cropland has amplified fire activity.
A molecular stabiliser of an inhibitory eIF2B-eIF2(αP) complex activates the Integrated Stress Response
|
Abstract Eukaryotic initiation factor 2B (eIF2B), a guanine nucleotide exchange factor (GEF), promotes protein synthesis by charging translation initiation factor 2 (eIF2) with GTP. Stress-induced phosphorylation of eIF2 on its α-subunit [eIF2(αP)] inhibits this reaction triggering a protective Integrated Stress Response (ISR).
