Structural basis of ligand recognition and gating in mosquito IRs
Abstract Ionotropic receptors (IRs) are essential for insect olfaction, enabling the detection of carboxylic acids, amines, moisture, and temperature cues that mediate critical behaviors, including mosquito host-seeking 1,2. However, the structural mechanisms underlying ligand specificity and channel activation in these receptors remain unclear.
Competing mechanisms toughen bcc binary and medium-entropy alloys at 20 K
Abstract Plastic deformation in body-centred cubic (bcc) metals and alloys is conventionally mediated by screw dislocations. Their temperature-sensitive motion is attributed to a steep rise in strength with decreasing temperature that constricts plastic zones at crack tips, leading to a ductile-to-brittle transition1.
Correspondence on “ALPHA-1 antitrypsin genotype, sex, and lung cancer: Clinical and molecular characterisation” by García-Rodríguez et al
To the Editor, García-Rodríguez et al. provide a valuable investigation into the relationship between alpha-1 antitrypsin (AAT) genotype, sex, and lung cancer (LC) characteristics.Citation1 We commend the authors for integrating clinical, molecular, and environmental data in a well-characterised cohort. However, several methodological considerations warrant attention before the findings are translated into clinical inference. First, the study population was dominated by mild AAT variants.
Event System Theory: A Decade of Progress and a Future of Potential

It has been used by scholars across domains in a variety of different ways and serves as a key catalyst for event-oriented research and theory.
Why Companies Should Support Crisis Volunteer Work
In the fall of 2017, as Hurricane Harvey’s floodwaters receded across Houston, employees from a local construction firm joined volunteer crews helping homeowners gut waterlogged walls and begin the long road to rebuilding—during regular work hours and while still receiving company pay. The company knew this was a moment for the organization to support its community, but what they didn’t anticipate was what these employees would bring back.
Irradiated CAF-like cells enhance nasopharyngeal carcinoma survival and radioresistance via PI3K/AKT/DNA-PKcs axis
Abstract Cancer-associated fibroblasts (CAFs) are key stromal cells in the tumor microenvironment (TME) and play critical roles in tumor progression and radioresistance. Radiotherapy kills malignant cells but also triggers stress in CAFs, which alters their phenotype and affects nearby tumor cells. However, how irradiated CAFs influence the survival and radioresistance of nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) cells remains unclear.

Fragility of Magic State Distillation under Imperfect Measurements
Abstract Magic state distillation (MSD) is the leading approach for producing the non-Clifford resources required for universal fault-tolerant quantum computation. Most prior analyses of MSD assume ideal projective stabilizer measurements, but this assumption becomes questionable on near-term hardware, where measurement fidelity is limited and large quantum error-correcting codes are unavailable.

Dynamic Self-Healing of Nickel Catalysts via Hydrogen Spillover for Efficient Hydrogenation Click to copy article link Article link copied!
Abstract Click to copy section linkSection link copied! The practical use of nickel catalysts is severely limited by surface oxidation, which passivates active sites with a NiO layer, resulting in a debilitating induction period. While protective strategies exist, they inevitably compromise the accessibility and intrinsic activity of Ni sites. Herein, we introduce a paradigm shift from static protection to dynamic self-healing via hydrogen spillover in a Ni-Pd/CeO2 architecture.
