Multimodal imaging and clinical evolution of an optic nerve head granuloma with prominent overlying vessels in ocular sarcoidosis: a case report and literature review
Abstract Background: Sarcoidosis is a multisystem granulomatous disorder of unclear etiology, histopathologically characterized by noncaseating granulomas. Ocular involvement is among the most common extrapulmonary manifestations, whereas optic nerve involvement occurs in fewer than 5% of cases. Direct granulomatous infiltration of the optic nerve represents the rarest form of optic nerve involvement.
Favourable response to photodynamic therapy in patients with stellate multiform amelanotic choroidopathy
Stellate multiform amelanotic choroidopathy (SMACH), previously termed “serous maculopathy due to a specific choroidopathy”, is a rare choroidal disorder first described by Van Dijk and Boon in 2021 [1]. SMACH is characterised by a unilateral choroidal lesion with a distinctive stellate or dendriform configuration, accompanied by hyperreflective fibrous-like changes within the inner choroid and variable alterations in the retinal pigment epithelium (RPE) [2].

Compartmentalized B cell-microglia crosstalk drives ischemic white matter demyelination
Abstract Ischemic white matter injury and the consequent neuroimmune response can contribute to vascular cognitive impairment. The role of B cells in ischemic white matter injury is unclear. Here, we show that crosstalk between meningeal B cells and CNS-resident microglia exacerbates white matter injury and vascular cognitive impairment.

Lithology influences soil microbial functional potential in subtropical forests
Abstract Lithology shapes the Earth’s critical zone, yet its influence on microbial genomic potential in subtropical forests remains unclear. Here, we quantified soil carbon (C), nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P), and sulfur (S) cycling functional genes across three contrasting lithologies in southwest China using HT-qPCR. We found limestone soils consistently harbored significantly higher gene abundances than dolostone and clasolite soils.
Balancing the autonomic scale: the promise of transcutaneous vagus nerve stimulation in combating cardiovascular diseases
Abstract Introduction: Cardiovascular diseases (CVD) remain a significant burden on global health, often associated with autonomic nervous system (ANS) dysfunction, particularly prolonged sympathetic hyperactivity. Transcutaneous vagus nerve stimulation (tVNS) offers a non-invasive method for modulating vagal tone to achieve autonomic balance, presenting a potentially promising therapeutic approach for hypertension, heart failure and arrhythmia that requires further validation.

Conventional optimization methods fail under the dimensional explosion of multi-year maintenance and renewal planning for hundreds of thousands to millions of assets.
Kat5 deficiency in alveolar type II cells licenses STAT6-driven glycolytic reprogramming and pulmonary fibrosis
Abstract Pulmonary fibrosis (PF) remains a lethal progressive disease with poorly defined molecular drivers. Epithelial dysfunction and metabolic reprogramming contribute to PF, but the mechanistic link between these processes remains unclear. Here, we identify a Kat5-STAT6 epigenetic-metabolic axis that governs fibrotic progression. Kat5 directly acetylates STAT6 at lysine 636 (K636), thereby suppressing STAT6 dimerization, phosphorylation and nuclear translocation.
Targeting PID1 generates oxysterols to switch macrophage cell fates for improved antitumor immunity
Abstract Disordered cholesterol–oxysterol profiles are observed in the tumor microenvironment, yet their roles in tumor-associated macrophages (TAMs) remain underexplored. This study reveals that TAMs across human pan-cancers exhibit elevated phosphotyrosine interaction domain-containing protein 1 (PID1) expression and prominent immunosuppressive gene signatures.

Dynamic monomer-dimer transition regulates DNA-guided RNA cleavage by MbpAgo
Abstract Prokaryotic Argonaute proteins (pAgos) are nucleic acid-guided endonucleases with diverse functions. Mucilaginibacter paludis Argonaute (MbpAgo) is unusual in using guide DNA (gDNA) to cleave target RNA (tgRNA), but the structural basis for this activity has been unclear. Here we present cryo-electron microscopy structures of MbpAgo in apo, binary, and ternary states at up to 2.55 Å resolution.
TRIM28 orchestrates SUMO-ubiquitin crosstalk to stabilize PPARG and drive bladder cancer progression
Abstract Bladder cancer (BLCA) is a growing health burden with rising incidence and limited therapeutic options. To define the role of the Tripartite Motif (TRIM) family in BLCA, we integrated multi-cohort transcriptomic analyses with functional and mechanistic validation. TRIM28 was identified as the most consistently upregulated TRIM member in BLCA and correlated with poor prognosis. TRIM28 depletion suppressed, whereas its overexpression enhanced, BLCA cell proliferation.

K isotopes trace temporal silicate weathering intensity - Nature Communications
Abstract Silicate weathering alters the biogeochemical compositions of the lithosphere, hydrosphere, and atmosphere, and thereby regulates both nutrient cycling and habitable temperatures on Earth, but tracing silicate weathering effectively remains a challenge. Potassium (K) isotopes have been proposed as a tracer of silicate weathering intensity spatially, but there is a significant gap in how and why K isotopes trace silicate weathering temporally.
