AIKEN, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) - A new dessert business has launched in Aiken, offering water ice fusions from a big yellow trailer. The Icee Fusion Experience specializes in water ice — a term more common in Philadelphia and New Jersey — rather than shaved ice. The business was founded by Sonya Wilson, who brought in her best friends to help run it. “That’s when I brought my sisters in and asked them to be a part of the next one, and we rebranded and started over,” Wilson said.

Krystal Lyon, head of education at the Augusta Museum of History, said the city’s Revolutionary War history is sometimes overlooked. “Lots of people talk about the Civil War in American history in this area, but there were no battles here in Augusta during the Civil War,” Lyon said.

Lincolnton woman opens coffee shop after putting dream on hold for 20 years

LINCOLNTON, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Robin Verginio moved to Lincoln County with plans to open a coffee shop, but the timing was not right. “People said you’re not from here, so don’t waste your time. My kids were still in school. I was homeschooling them, had my mother in law living with us. She was ill. I had to take care of her,” said Robin Verginio, owner of Lincolnton Coffee Cottage. She put her dream on hold for almost 20 years.
