Artery tertiary lymphoid organs encode a pathogenic high-affinity autoantibody−autoantigen pair in atherosclerosis
|
Abstract Artery tertiary lymphoid organs (ATLOs) emerge in atherosclerosis, which is a chronic inflammatory artery disease with an autoimmune component. However, whether disease-relevant autoimmune B cells emerge in ATLOs remains unknown. In this study, we isolate germinal center (GC) B cells from ATLOs and lymph nodes from healthy and atherosclerosis-burdened mice, expression clone 60 autoantibodies and screen them for arterial wall reactivity.

High temperature Nb-Si alloys using data science: optimization of fracture toughness and high-temperature strength
Abstract High temperature Nb-Si based alloys face a critical challenge: achieving adequate room-temperature fracture toughness ( > 18 MPa·m1/2) for processing while maintaining high-temperature strength, properties that typically compete with each other. Here, we overcome this inherent trade-off through machine learning-guided alloy design, employing a three-step feature screening strategy to identify 6 key descriptors from 200 initial features.
Air-permeable hydrogels through viscoelastic phase separation of aerogels
|
Abstract Hydrogels are widely used in biomedical interfaces, in which effective gas exchange (for example, O2, CO2) within a water-rich environment is essential. However, hydrogels show intrinsically limited air exchange efficiency, owing to the low solubility (C) and diffusivity (D) of non-polar gases in the polar water medium1. This limitation poses a substantial bottleneck in long-term applications, such as wearable health monitors2,3,4,5,6,7 and tissue engineering8,9,10,11,12.

Cerebral blood flow (CBF) alterations have been implicated in CLBP, yet previous arterial spin labeling (ASL) studies using single post-labeling delay (PLD) have yielded inconsistent results. In this study, multi-PLD ASL was combined with machine learning to characterize CBF alterations in CLBP and to explore their classification feasibility.
Hepatokine ORM2 suppresses pathological ferritinophagy to prevent acute tissue injury
Abstract Acute tissue injuries trigger rapid cellular damage, but cell-intrinsic protective programs attenuate pathology through regulatory axes. Here, we demonstrate that Orosomucoid 2 (ORM2), a hepatokine, is significantly upregulated during drug-induced acute liver injury. Knock out Orm2 exacerbates liver damage, while its overexpression provides protection, identifying ORM2 as an endogenous hepatoprotective factor during acute liver injury.
