Economics > Theoretical Economics
We study how retained ownership supports the value of an asset that pays no dividends and is held only for resale. A sponsor chooses hidden maintenance that determines market survival, bears its full cost, and captures only the benefit accruing to its retained tokens.
Economics > Theoretical Economics
Public debt supplies liquidity and collateral services only if institutions coordinate on using the same claim. We study this coordination when use carries a recurring cost and a benefit that rises with other users. Above a quality threshold, two positive-adoption equilibria exist, and under best responses the initial user base decides between collapse and high adoption.
A study on user continuance intention for children’s intelligent companion robots based on BERTopic-PLS-SEM-fsQCA
Abstract The children’s intelligent companion robot market faces the industry-wide challenge of “high initial adoption yet low sustained retention.” Existing research has predominantly relied on single-method approaches, leaving the psychological mechanisms and configurational pathways driving user continuance intention insufficiently understood.

Loss of Smad4 drives vascular malformations via c-KIT–dependent high–fluid shear stress mimicry
Abstract Vascular endothelial cells (ECs) encode a homeostatic fluid shear stress (FSS) set point that is essential for vascular stability. Deviations above or below this threshold trigger adaptive remodeling to restore physiological shear levels. Disruption of this control mechanism leads to enlarged arteriovenous malformations (AVMs) in hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia, a vascular disorder caused by heterozygous loss-of-function (LOF) mutation in ALK1, ENG, or SMAD4.
Mapping the diverse trajectories of intrinsic capacity and their key drivers in China’s aging population
Abstract Background: Intrinsic capacity (IC) is central to healthy aging. Understanding its longitudinal change is crucial for proactive health planning. Yet evidence on distinct IC trajectories and their determinants in China remains limited, constraining targeted interventions. Methods: We analyzed cohort data from participants aged 50 years and older in the World Health Organization’s Study on Global AGEing and Adult Health (WHO-SAGE) China cohort.
SRSF1 modulates the dark nucleolar cap pH to restore nucleolar integrity and function
Abstract The nucleolus is a multiphase condensate with three subcompartments organized by an internal pH gradient. Although pH regulates condensate dynamics and function, how it is controlled under various physiological and pathological conditions remains poorly understood. Here we show that splicing factor SRSF1 is shuttled from nuclear speckles to the dark nucleolar caps (DNCs) under stress that often interrogates nucleolar rRNA synthesis.

Stress-engineered 0.34 nm graphene memristors for low-power probabilistic computing
Abstract Memristors are promising for neuromorphic computing electronics, yet scaling is hindered by the difficulty of fabricating ordered nanoscale electrodes. Here, we report an angstrom-scale graphene-edge memristor with a geometrically defined 0.34 × 0.34 nm2 crossed-electrode area. Key to this achievement is our stress-distribution-based technique that enables intact graphene transfer onto smooth vertical sidewalls without damage.
Electron Bridge Enhanced Charge Polarization Enables Efficient and Ultra-Long Stable Urea Electrosynthesis
1 Introduction Urea is the world's most demanded basic nitrogenous fertilizer and an important chemical feedstock, playing irreplaceable roles in agricultural production and materials manufacturing [1-3]. The annual global production of urea is approximately 120 million tons [1, 4, 5].
Toward precision host-directed immunomodulation in community-acquired pneumonia: a proposed endotype–target–natural-product framework and a roadmap for validation in human lung organoids
Abstract Community-acquired pneumonia (CAP) still causes high mortality despite effective antibiotics. Much of this death is driven by a dysregulated host immune response rather than by the pathogen itself, and antimicrobial resistance deepens the problem. Host-directed therapy has accordingly shifted toward precision immunomodulation, yet its benefit appears conditional on the inflammatory state.

Structures and inhibition of the Crimean–Congo haemorrhagic fever virus polymerase
Abstract Crimean–Congo haemorrhagic fever virus (CCHFV) is a tick-borne virus and causes severe, often fatal, human infections. Lacking licensed vaccines or drugs, CCHFV is a World Health Organization priority pathogen requiring urgent development of medical countermeasures1,2. The CCHFV Large (L) protein functions as the viral RNA-dependent RNA polymerase CCHFV-L, representing a promising antiviral target, and is among the largest viral polymerases in the order Bunyavirales.
RNA synthesis and substrate analog inhibition in the CCHFV polymerase
Abstract The about 4000-residue L proteins from the Nairoviridae are the largest known viral polymerases, lacking global structural information and promising nucleotide analog (NA) inhibitors. Here we report structures of full-length Nairoviridae Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever virus (CCHFV) L including a 3.0-Å-resolution polymerase elongation complex that elucidates mechanisms of both early and late elongation stages.
Association between red blood cell distribution width to albumin ratio and pneumonia risk in acute ischemic stroke: evidence from two independent cohorts
Abstract Background: Pneumonia is a common and severe complication in acute ischemic stroke (AIS) patients, particularly those requiring intensive care. Early prediction of pneumonia risk can enable timely interventions and improve clinical outcomes. The Red Blood Cell Distribution Width to Albumin Ratio (RAR), combining markers of inflammation (RDW) and nutritional status (albumin), has potential as a predictor of pneumonia risk in AIS patients.

Chromosomal-level genome assembly of Tetraponera attenuata (Hymenoptera: Formicidae)
Abstract Symbiotic partnerships between hosts and microbes drive evolutionary innovation by expanding metabolic capacity, yet how these partnerships are integrated into superorganismal systems remains poorly understood in social insects. In the herbivorous Tetraponera nigra-group ants, we previously identified an adult-specific bacterial pouch that enables colony-wide nutritional symbiosis. However, this partnership has been characterized primarily from the symbiont side.

China’s energy structure is characterized by the prominent feature of “abundant coal, insufficient oil and scarce natural gas”, with coal having long maintained a dominant position in the consumption of primary energy. (1,2,4) According to estimates, by 2030, China’s energy demand is projected to reach 5.5 billion tons of standard coal, of which coal will still account for 50%–60%. Its core role in safeguarding energy security will be difficult to replace in the short term.
Dorsal anterior cingulate cortex-targeted transcranial temporal interference stimulation for negative symptoms and cognitive impairment in schizophrenia: a participant- and assessor-blinded, sham-controlled randomized controlled trial protocol
Abstract Background: Persistent negative symptoms and cognitive deficits remain major obstacles to functional recovery in schizophrenia. These impairments are often only partially responsive to antipsychotic treatment and may persist even when other symptoms are clinically stable. Psychosocial interventions show inconsistent efficacy, and commonly used non-invasive brain stimulation techniques have limited ability to target deeper cortical regions.

Bidirectional integrin β1 activation synergizes neurovascular coupling and enhances bone regeneration
Abstract Reconstruction of large segmental bone defects remains challenging because current grafting strategies often fail to coordinate angiogenesis, neurogenesis, and osteogenesis. Here we developed a functional scaffold (peptide/Talin1 plasmid/PLA–HA/GelMA, PTPG) capable of simultaneously delivering peptides and Talin1 plasmids. We hypothesized that this scaffold enables neurovascularized bone regeneration through bidirectional activation of integrin β1 (ITGB1).
