Industries Under Siege: The Rising Threat of Cyberattacks in 2024 Industries are the backbone of global economies, driving innovation, creating jobs, and fostering prosperity. However, they are increasingly vulnerable to cyberattacks, which threaten economic stability and national security. These attacks can disrupt production, supply chains, and livelihoods, leading to economic instability and job losses. They also pose significant risks to essential services and national defense capabilities.
Bristol has some of the worst roads in UK
Bristol’ roads are among the worst in the UK according to a new study. Potholes, congestion levels, pollution and dangerous driving have driven the city to the top of the list in a recent study by Compare the Market. The study found that 79 per cent of Bristol’s roads were in need of repairs, but the city came behind London in terms of stress levels when driving, with 63 per cent of drivers finding driving in London stressful, compared to 41 per cent in Bristol.
Rise Up Children’s Choir Sings Chilling Tune ‘I Believe’
A group of musically gifted children turned in a stunning performance, singing a song about finding and having hope and faith even in the bleakest of situations. Throughout history, human beings have shown that they are capable of some truly horrific, revolting and sickening things. One of the most prominent examples, which perfectly illustrates the level of evil humans are capable of, is the Holocaust during WWII.
Dons denied by Canaries after captain’s birthday goal
Captain Hannah Billingham marked her birthday with a fine headed goal, but it wasn't enough to earn all three points on Sunday. A disappointing 1-1 away draw was the outcome at Norwich City with a last-minute goal for the hosts. Though the weather continues to cause havoc with fixtures across the country, this match was fine to go ahead as it was played on a 4G pitch. Going into the game the Dons had only played one game in the last six weeks, so there was a lack of clinical edge.
The perfect 34!
Ashlee Hincks celebrated her 34th birthday in style with a well-taken hat-trick against Chesham United. Goals by Ashlee Hincks and Becki Bath guided the Dons to a 4-1 victory at Mill Meadow against an in-form Chesham Utd in the WPL Division One. After two wins on the bounce in the FA Cup, the Dons did not get off to the start they had imagined, struggling to get into the rhythm that had seen us play so well in recent weeks.

Opinion | In D.C., housing should be a human right
George A. Jones is chief executive of Bread for the City. In 1966, the United Nations identified adequate housing as a fundamental human right as part of its International Covenant on Economic, Social, and Cultural Rights. But, even as early as 1944, in his State of the Union address, with the world still at war, President Franklin D. Roosevelt viewed the concept of housing as a human right as a potential federal policy in the aftermath of the Great Depression.
Opinion | How we’re working toward racial equity in distributing coronavirus vaccines in D.C.
George A. Jones is chief executive of Bread for the City. Across D.C., residents and leaders alike were quick to realize a simple truth about the coronavirus pandemic’s impact: Black communities were hit the hardest, especially in the number of related fatalities. A similar story can be found nationwide.
SCENE's annual Christmas Songs that are Actually Good
I swear to sweet holy living God if I hear Bing Crosby sing “I’ll Be Home for Christmas” one more time this year — ONE MORE TIME — I’m going to knock over the panettone display in whatever supermarket I happen to be in. I hate that song. And yes, sure, fine, OK, I recognize not everyone shares this opinion. I’m told the song helped a whole bunch of World War II soldiers make it through Christmas away from home when Crosby’s version was released back in ’43. For that, I salute it.
Leonard Cohen on the obsolescence of political labels “in the face of the catastrophe that everybody’s really dealing with”
In 1993, when Leonard Cohen appeared on the BBC TV show, Later with Jools Holland, the host asked if he believed he was an optimistic person. Leonard’s reply is as pertinent, penetrating, and powerful today as it was then.

Mass Defect: Making Space Mistakes in Rodina — startmenu
In Space, No One Can Hear You Redecorate Your Two-Story Ship with Flowerpots and a Double Bed There's a serenity to watching a blue sun rise over a planet I'll never leave. My ship is a flaming wreck streaking through the great black above me, no doubt peppered with holes from the xeno assault that left me stranded here. I’ve got a gun, a fire extinguisher, a backpack and a dream. What I don’t have is a way off this planet.

Mae Borowski? More like me Borowski. There’s a permanence to finishing university. I’ve left education twice already—once after GCSEs and again after sixth form—but this time is the last. I’m not doing a masters, I’m not flying into postgraduate courses or apprenticeships, I’m just…going home. For good. I’m left with a lot of questions; should I have learned more? Networked more? Pushed myself more?
Playing God in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire — startmenu
Apr 21 Apr 21 Playing God in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Look at my perks, ye mighty, and despair! Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire is a bloody difficult game. It's firmly rooted in the golden age of CRPGs, a genre that is notoriously unfriendly to newcomers. Fights are hard, character specialisation and variety are key and every adventure beyond the safety of town requires preparation.
Review: Tom Clancy's The Division 2
Ubisoft's latest looty-shooty is a flawed but nonetheless massive game, bursting at the seams with things to do and people to shoot. It's got problems, but lack of fun isn't one of them. Apparently, I’m an LMG guy now.

Sword & Sworcery EP is enduringly weird
CAPY's 2011 adventure is a bit of a classic for me The moss-and-ochre palette of the Caucasus in Superbrothers: Sword and Sworcery EP is intensely homely to me. Eight years on from the game’s mobile release, returning to the idyllic pasture outside Logfella’s hut is akin to loading up my town in Animal Crossing or spending some time in Persona 4’s Inaba. But for all that home-away-from-home charm, Sworcery is also an exceedingly weird game.
International Development Has A Race Problem
Last week I attended a talk at Oxford University, a presentation of a new book, “Getting to Zero: A Doctor and a Diplomat on the Ebola Frontline”about Sierra Leone’s 2014 Ebola emergency response. The first question from an audience member made me mad. The question was in reference to Kerry Town Ebola Treatment Center, a 100-bed hospital that the British government built during the emergency response, to the tune of $80 million.
