Dorsal C1–2 Spinal Cord Compression After Reduction of Atlantoaxial Posterior Dislocation Associated With Os Odontoideum: A Case Report and Literature Review
1 Introduction The odontoid process and surrounding ligamentous structures normally restrict posterior translation of the atlas. Consequently, most atlantoaxial dislocations occur anteriorly [1]. Atlantoaxial posterior dislocation (APD) is rare and is usually associated with odontoid fractures or congenital malformations. APD caused by os odontoideum (OO) is particularly uncommon; only a limited number of cases and small series have been reported in the English-language literature [2-9].

Direct measurement of the temperature dependent lattice and electronic structure reconfigurations of α-RuCl 3 thin films
Herein, we reveal the temperature-dependent broadening of the Mott gap in layered α-RuCl3, together with a distinct transition in the range of 100–130 K, through surface morphology and electronic structure characterizations using scanning tunneling microscopy and scanning tunneling spectroscopy, respectively. Furthermore, layer-dependent measurements indicate an enhanced phase transition and Kitaev interactions with decreasing thickness.
Phosphoantigen-driven dissociation of butyrophilin oligomers activates γδ T cells
Abstract γδ T cells represent a promising avenue for cancer immunotherapy. The Vγ9Vδ2 T-cell receptor (TCR), which is expressed by the predominant subset of γδ T cells, responds to phosphoantigen (pAg)-engaged butyrophilins (BTNs) on various cancer cells. However, the molecular mechanism underlying the pAg-mediated activation of Vγ9Vδ2 TCRs remains a subject of debate. Here, we employed an integrative approach to elucidate the mechanism of pAg reactivity in Vγ9Vδ2 T cells.

Plasmids and cloning Full-length human ZER1 (NCBI Gene ID 10444) and ZYG11B (NCBI Gene ID 79699) cDNAs were cloned into the pCDH-Flag-c-Myc (Addgene, #102626) using a seamless cloning strategy for mammalian overexpression. For bacterial expression, DNA fragments encoding full-length or fragments of ZER1 (amino acids 300–766 and 469–766) and ZYG11B (amino acids 490–744) were cloned into the pGEX-6P-1 vector (Cytiva) for generation of N-terminal GST-fusion proteins.
Fidelity-enhanced filter-free OAM holography via polarization-assisted metasurfaces
Orbital-angular-momentum (OAM) beams provide high-dimensional channels for metasurface holography, but their ideal orthogonality is strongly degraded in finite, discretized metasurfaces. In filter-free OAM multiplexing, multiple holographic channels therefore compete for limited structural modulation degrees of freedom, leading to severe crosstalk and reduced reconstruction fidelity.
High-order photonic degeneracy enables topological reconfiguration in bound states in the continuum
Abstract Extreme suppression of free-space radiation in open planar photonic systems remains a long-standing goal in nanophotonics. Conventional bound states in the continuum (BICs), constrained by symmetry-protected or accidental singularities, restrict experimental Q-k scaling exponents to n = 2-8 because ordinary bands lack sufficient degrees of freedom to host, redistribute or merge additional radiation-suppressing singularities.

Sensitive infrared photodetection enabled by in-sensor background-offset cancellation in a mixed-dimensional van der Waals heterostructure
|
Abstract Room-temperature infrared photodetection has long been constrained by broadband thermal radiation, which injects background photons and drives detectors toward a background-limited regime. Beyond stochastic photon fluctuations, this radiation produces a deterministic mean photocurrent offset that can overwhelm weak signals under ambient conditions.

Energy-based indicators and optimization of coal pillar width in gob-side entry driving
Abstract Gob-side entry driving is widely applied in deep coal mines, where rapid unloading of surrounding rock on the gob side induces stress redistribution, and the coal pillar is consequently regarded as a key load-bearing structure. The stability of the roadway is governed by the competition between elastic elastic strain energy and dissipated energy within the coal pillar.
Whom Should Entrepreneurs Approach for Acquisitions? Beware the Middle-Status Freeze
Source: AI-generated picture Summary When entrepreneurs try to get their foot in the door of a major corporation, whom should they approach? Entrepreneurs often assume that the higher level they reach, the better. But is it really the case? In our recent study, published in the Journal of Management Studies, we found that contacts’ intra-organizational status has a U-shaped effect on their tendency to refer entrepreneurs to their organizations for acquisitions.

Shifts in the Upper Limit of Alpine Grasslands Lag Behind Climate Warming Across the Tibetan Plateau
1 Introduction Alpine grasslands, which encompass diverse ecosystems such as meadows, steppes, and deserts, act as crucial sentinels of global environmental changes (Cauvy-Fraunié and Dangles 2019; Choler et al. 2025; Rumpf et al. 2022; Shen et al. 2022). These ecosystems are vital for sustaining biodiversity, regulating water cycles, and sequestering carbon (Cauvy-Fraunié and Dangles 2019; Chen et al. 2022; Shen et al. 2015; Thuiller et al. 2005; Xu et al. 2009).
Continuous polarization–wavelength mapping with nonlocal metasurfaces
Abstract Simultaneous and continuous control over polarization and wavelength—two orthogonal and information-rich degrees of freedom—remains a central challenge in metasurface photonics, long hindered by intrinsic dispersion constraints and structural degeneracy. Here, we customize continuous polarization–wavelength mapping through a nonlocal metasurface platform that decouples birefringent evolution from structural dispersion.
A 3D modeling framework for accurate trajectory-based prediction of critical diameter in deterministic lateral displacement microfluidics - Microsystems & Nanoengineering
Abstract Deterministic Lateral Displacement (DLD) is a high-precision microfluidic technique for particle separation based on size differences. However, the lack of an accurate predictive model for the critical diameter (Dc) limits both the design flexibility and understanding of DLD behavior. In this study, we propose a novel Dc prediction framework based on a 3D physical model, achieving high accuracy and computational efficiency.
