Capturing attosecond delays in electronic and vibrational dependent photoemission of NO molecules
Abstract Timing the photoionization process reveals electron motion through the molecular potential and the interplay between electronic and nuclear dynamics. Here we show, using attosecond interferometry with high energy resolution, that photoionization delays in nitric oxide depend on the electronic state and vibrational level of the molecular ion. We observe significant delays among channels leading to different electronic states, in agreement with scattering calculations.
Cross-scale genetic, molecular, and cellular triangulation prioritizes ACSL5 as a T3-responsive candidate linking hypothyroidism liability to anemia
Abstract Purpose: Anemia is a recognized complication of hypothyroidism, but disease-level genetic studies have not identified a clear erythroid cell-intrinsic target. We integrated genetic validation, molecular-QTL prioritization, and replicated triiodothyronine (T3)-responsive erythroid experiments to identify candidates linking hypothyroidism liability to anemia. Materials and methods: Two-sample Mendelian randomization (MR) assessed genetically predicted hypothyroidism and anemia.

Phasing parental genomes of hybrid pigs facilitates the deciphering of imprinted genes and the mechanistic basis of heterosis
Abstract Conventional genetic models assume symmetric parental contributions, masking parent-of-origin effects underlying heterosis. Here, we integrate haplotype-resolved genomic and transcriptomic data from 594 F2 pigs to quantify parent-of-origin effects. We develop a phased analytical framework that overcomes the limitations of additive models, enabling systematic dissection of allelic regulatory asymmetry.

STUB1-induced polyubiquitination of SIK3 in alveolar type 2 epithelial cells alleviates severity and outcomes of acute lung injury
Abstract Disruption in alveolar type 2 epithelial cells (AT2s) homeostasis by oxidative stress plays an essential role in the pathogenesis of acute lung injury (ALI). However, significant discrepancies remain in understanding the mechanisms for AT2 as a main target for reactive oxygen species (ROS). Herein, we show that STUB1, an E3 ligase involved in protein homeostasis, was dominantly expressed in AT2s.

Androgen activity in the male embryonic hindbrain drives lethal PFA ependymoma
|
Abstract Posterior fossa type A (PFA) ependymoma is an unusual infantile brain tumour with few known somatic mutations, thought to be driven by epigenetic mechanisms1. PFA ependymoma has a markedly higher incidence and worse prognosis in male children than in female children2. The mechanisms that underlie these sex differences are at present unknown. Here we show that the cellular hierarchy of PFA ependymoma is less differentiated in male individuals than it is in female individuals.
